As an artist, in order for me to produce a portrait, I need a good clear close up image to work from. It should be easy to make out facial features, as the clearer the features are the better the portrait will be. Above all, it has to be a photograph that you like personally and one which you feel shows the subject’s character. If you are not sure whether a photograph is suitable, then I will be more than happy to advise you. Portraits are done with Graphite Pencil on high quality bristol board paper and colour pencils on tinted pastel paper. The photograph can be mailed to me, or scanned in and sent as an email attachment. You may prefer to send your picture as an email attachment if it has been taken on a digital camera.
